Benchmark pay at the band you actually hire.
An offer is set for one role, in one city, at one experience level. CapSight's pay benchmarks are cut the same way: annual CTC in lakh rupees at four percentiles, for the market, each platform industry and individual companies, so you can place an offer against the right comparison.

- P25, P50, P75 and P90 annual CTC in lakh rupees
- Six experience bands, always named with the figure
- Market, industry and company comparisons

Benchmark Compensation, in four parts.
Each part is something the product does today, with the data it uses named on the page.
The right cut for the offer
Choose the role, the city or state and the experience band, and read the percentiles for exactly that slice. Where a narrow slice has no benchmark, the view widens and says what it widened to.
Position against the industry
See a company's median against the median of its platform industry and of the whole market at the same band.
Skill premiums
The market's pay uplift for skills such as Generative AI and Machine Learning, with the evidence quality and period shown, and capped values marked as capped.
A figure you can quote
Every number names its band, unit and source, so it can go into an offer review, a budget paper or a report without a footnote hunt.
One market, twelve decisions.
The same list of GCCs, the same cities and the same pay benchmarks sit under every solution, so where to build, what to build, what to pay and whom to hire are answered from one set of facts that agree with each other.

Six experience bands, one rule: always name the band
Benchmarks are published by experience band. The product never averages them into one figure; the default view is 4 to 8 years, and the band is printed next to every median.

0 to 2 years
Entry hires and graduates.

Directors and senior leadership.
Ask the question the way you would ask a colleague.
These are the kinds of questions this page is built for. Each one is answered from the data on it, not from a general model of the market.
What is the median annual CTC for a four-to-eight-year software engineer in Bengaluru, and what are the 25th and 90th percentiles?
How does our median compare with the Software & Internet industry's at the same band?
Which city pays the most for this role, and by how much?
What do AI skills add to pay over a comparable role, and how well supported is the figure?
How does a named peer's pay position compare with the market?
Which role groups pay at the top of the range in a given function?
From first look to a decision you can show.
Pick the slice
Function, family or role group; city or state; experience band; and the market, an industry or a company.
Read the percentiles
The four percentiles for that slice, in annual lakh rupees, with the band named.
Compare
Set the figure against the industry, the market and neighbouring cities.
Add the skill view
Check whether a scarce skill moves the figure, and read the evidence quality beside it.
Built for the people who own the decision.
Total-rewards and compensation teams
Percentile benchmarks cut the way offers are.
Hiring managers and TA partners
A number to anchor an offer conversation.
Finance partners
Budget assumptions that name the band.
What is in it, and what is not yet.
We say plainly what the data holds today and what we are still adding, so nothing here is implied.

The terms on this page, defined.
Every figure on a CapSight page comes with its definition, so you never have to guess what a number is counting.
- GCC
- A Global Capability Centre: a centre a company runs in India for its own global work, such as engineering, analytics, finance, operations or support. It is part of the company, not an outside vendor.
- Platform Industry
- The one industry grouping CapSight uses for every company, so a filter or a chart means the same thing on every page. There are 10.
- Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities
- Tier 1 is the eight established hubs: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Every other city is Tier 2.
- CTC
- Cost to company: the annual total an employer commits to one person, shown in lakh rupees. One lakh is 100,000.
- Percentile band (P25, P50, P75, P90)
- P50 is the median: half the people in the sample earn less. P25 and P75 mark the edges of the middle half, and P90 marks the top tenth. A pay figure is always read with its band.
- Build journey
- A documented account of how a comparable centre started: its first city, its first team and how it grew, with each figure cited to its source.
Before you ask.
Are these salary records?
They are published benchmark percentiles, not individual records, and the product does not claim record counts it does not hold.
What does 'capped' mean on a skill premium?
The published figure sits at the file's market ceiling, so the true uplift may differ. The product shows the cap rather than presenting it as an estimate.
Is the total CTC breakdown available?
Not yet. The percentiles are annual total CTC; the split into fixed, variable and equity is listed under what comes next.
